Kristi Lockhart, PhD

Kristi Lockhart, a licensed clinical psychologist, is a senior lecturer and associate research scientist in the Department of Psychology at Yale. For the past thirty-five years, both at Cornell and at Yale, she has taught a variety of courses on mental health. At Cornell, she was the recipient of both the Clark Teaching award and the “Outstanding Professor of the Year“ award given by a consortium of undergraduate groups.  In 2004 Kristi received the Elm-Ivy Award for her initiative in placing Yale student volunteers at CMHC and other local mental health settings.  A developmental psychologist as well, Kristi’s research focuses on young children’s optimistic thinking and children’s causal understanding of biological processes, including the action of medicine. Kristi has been actively involved in the outreach and education efforts of the CMHC foundation. Her students regularly volunteer at CMHC and other mental health settings.
